Skydiver Information

Attn all Jumpers: Camping is free, we do not charge D.Z FEES & offer FREE use of the Kooralbyn Resort facilities!

 
First established in 1990 - Skydive Queensland & Kooralbyn Skydivers Drop-zone is situated just one hour from either Brisbane or the Gold Coast. Kooralbyn is a unique venue for Skydivers – boasting fantastic resort facilities with super-discount accommodation available. Our self-contained villas are excellent value and provide everything you need – where else can you stay in a Resort and wander down the road to the Drop-Zone in time to catch that last load. As the crow flies we are only 10 minutes to the coast so we can see from Byron to Brisbane!

Fantastic facilities - when the weather lets us down we can always try a round of golf – 18hole, par 3, mini golf or a game of tennis, go for a horse-ride or just have a few drinks at the Resort bar. Summer offers us the use of 4 pools situated throughout the grounds and within walking distance of the D.Z. and winter will find us soaking in the hot spa! The D.Z has a large undercover carpeted packing shed, a canteen, loads of picnic tables, BBQ facilities and the usual Saturday night festivities and catered BBQ’s prevail. The Bonfire is always raging and our D.Z bar is a friendly place to be!

Aircraft
Turbine Cresco (a Hot pink One) - 10 jumpers to 14,000ft in about 11 minutes! Enjoy surround sound on the quick climb to height, awesome exits - awesome plane! Cessna 182 as the ever faithful backup!
Jumpers from all over are taking advantage of our great plane & great facilities and we have an excellent crew of fun-jumpers of all experience levels who will make you welcome with all skydiving disciplines catered for. There are lots of us die-hard rel-workers out here but free-flying is definitely a force to be reckoned – James Evered’s recent freefly seminar was a great weekend with lots of skills learnt by all and our recent CRW seminar was very popular. From AFF to A license, B-rel’s and above - all levels - all tastes – all welcome!

Training Camps
Kooralbyn has been recognized as one of the Premier training camp destinations in Australia with facilities second to none. Kooralbyn was the training ground for the ‘Early Openers’ – Australia’s first World Championship Gold Medalists and ‘It’ll Happen’ - Australia’s first World Cup Champions in 16 Way Freefall Formation Skydiving. Competitive rates and the benefits of a smaller turbine aircraft with minimum pax per load of just 6 – this is an excellent team training aircraft.
